Competition Proposal
Market Square Design Competition, Stratford, Canada
September 2006

This proposal utilizes Stratford citizens’ perceptions of their own town as an instrument for the stereoscopic transformation of Market Square into an urban civic space. Stereoscopic vision can produce a much desired (and needed) soothing feeling. The optical production of a ‘virtual’ depth submerges the viewer into a newly created blank personal space. This project proposes to transform Market Square into a new public interior with the capacity to link individual psychological perceptions with a set of collective cultural understandings.
